T-Ball

This program is our entry level division for player ages 5-6 (some 4 year olds may be eligible to play but must have turned 4 by December of the previous year).  Players learn the fundamentals of throwing, catching, fielding, hitting, and running the bases.

Minors

These divisions (ages 7-12) continue to play on the traditional sized Little League 60’ diamond.  However, Little League has formatted new age criteria effective in 2018. As a result of these changes and the introduction of the Intermediate division: which has seen an increase in player participation, CLL has reconfigured our Minors divisions.

  • Single (A) Rookies division (ages 7-8). This division will still feature “machine pitch” to help players improve their batting skills; players also begin to run the bases more purposefully and the catcher position is introduced.
  • Double (AA) Minors division (9-10). This division introduces player pitching and continues to emphasize development in fundamental skills.  Stolen bases are also introduced in this division.
  • Triple (AAA) Major’s division, (ages 11-12). In this division, pitching becomes more accurate and outfield defense becomes more important as batters begin to hit more consistently.

Intermediate

This is the second year for this division of baseball (ages 12-13). The larger diamond (70' bases) is a good transition for players to adjust to playing “real” baseball. Players use bats with larger barrels and are introduced to taking “leads” and “picking-off” base- runners. The larger field allows players more reaction time on hard hit balls as their bodies get bigger and stronger, reducing the risk of injuries.

Players who are 13 years old may play in both, Intermediates and the Juniors Division. A player, who participates in both the Intermediate and Juniors divisions, and is eligible for Tournament team selection under the rules, may play for either Tournament team:

Juniors

Players (ages 13-14) complete on a 90’ diamond and play rules similar to Major League Baseball.

Players who are 13 years old may play in both the Intermediate and Juniors Divisions. A player, who participates in both the Intermediate and juniors divisions and is eligible for Tournament team selection under the rules, may play for either Tournament team: Intermediates or juniors but NOT both.

Seniors

Players (ages 15-16) compete on a 90” diamond. Like the Juniors division, the rules are similar to Major League Baseball. Games are played on Sundays (usually as double headers) to avoid conflicts with scholastic teams.

High School players who are 14 years old may tryout to participate in the Seniors division (space dependent).
